As the peak of the summer season is coming up, it is the best time to grow these vegetables at your home and enjoy their freshness and natural taste with minimal effort.

1. Brinjal

Brinjal is also known as eggplant or aubergine and is enriched with nutritional values with medicinal qualities. This vegetable gives you a decent supply of potassium and fiber. It thrives in full sun with at least 6 hours of sunlight daily and requires fertile, well-drained soil with PH between 5.5-7.2. The optimum growing temperature ranges between 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The seeds can be expected to mature between 100 to 120 days.

2. Green Chilli

Green Chilli is a very popular spice in India and has anti-bacterial properties and also contains vitamin C. It benefits your health in numerous ways from improving eyesight, heart problems, and weight loss to preventing cancer. It grows best in warm and humid conditions and this is the best time to sow them.  These can be grown with minimal effort and a good quantity can be produced within 2 months.

3. Pumpkin

This plump vegetable is counted in highly nutrient-dense food. Highly rich in several vitamins and minerals, pumpkin, is said to have low calories. Pumpkins are typically planted at this time of the year, depending upon the variety, so they can be fully matured by October. They need a continuous supply of available moisture throughout the growing season.

4. Bottle Gourd

Bottle gourd or calabash provides various health benefits including curing fever, cough, pain, and asthma. It is known to be a good source of vitamins and zinc. They grow well in sandy loamy soil and are a monsoon crop so the best time to sow them is from June to July. They also can be easily grown in pots, containers, and terraces; if you have a backyard, they thrive well on the round.

 5. Carrots

The benefits of carrots can be attributed to their vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, beta-carotene, and fiber. They are a cool season crop, hence, planted till early July. On average, they are ready to harvest in 75 to 80 days. They thrive well when soil pH is neutral to slightly acidic, between 6 and 7. Good soil for growing well-shaped roots is a light sandy loam.
