Rooting hormones are chemical remedies that are applied to the cut end of a stem or branch to stimulate root growth. They are used mainly by gardeners who propagate their plants but also have applications in agriculture and horticulture. Also, check out our workshops for more details.
Rooting hormone is a combination of plant growth hormones that helps to stimulate a plant to switch from producing green cells (leaf and stem material) to root cells.
HOW TO USE
- During propagation, the rooting hormone should be applied immediately before you place your clipping in the soil.
- Dip the base of the cutting into the hormone.
- Then shake gently to remove any excess.
- Place the cutting into moist soil, loosely covering the base.
Rooting hormones enhance the chance of healthy plant rooting and can also help to produce roots of higher quality. It simplifies the task of propagating plants. Rooting compounds aid in the rooting of moderate to difficult-to-root species, accelerate root initiation, improve rooting uniformity, increase the number of roots produced, and decrease shrink and rooting time.
